LEHI — Traverse Mountain Elementary School and all residents and businesses in a quarter-mile radius were ordered to evacuate Tuesday after a gas leak was reported near the school.
“Students from Traverse Mountain Elementary are being relocated to Eagle Summit Park (5100 N 2600 W, Lehi, UT 84043). Please pick up your children at that location. Access the reunification site via Frontage Rd and Homestead Dr,” the city of Lehi said. “Please leave the area now and follow instructions from emergency personnel. Avoid the school area and surrounding streets.”
The evacuation was lifted before 3 p.m. after the leak was safely contained, Lehi said.
“The gas leak has been safely contained, and it is now safe for residents and businesses to return to the area. Students who were relocated to Eagle Summit Park are safe. Parents may pick up their children at that location if they have not already done so,” the city announced.
