Our previous reporting

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — Police are investigating an incident where two officers said they were attacked when attempting to break up a party over the weekend. Taylorsville Police said the party was shut down and two people have been arrested so far.

Police responded three times to noise complaints from neighbors about a party in Taylorsville at 5349 Royal Autumn Circle on Saturday night. Officers initially asked the partygoers to end the party by 10 p.m.

On their third time responding to complaints, officers went to shut it down themselves. Police said that’s when things got violent and partygoers cornered two officers.

Taylorsville Police Sgt. Ryan Carver said the officers sent out a 10-33, a code meaning an officer was in trouble. Carver said almost every agency in Salt Lake County responded to the call.

“It was enough to stop a party with 60-plus people in its tracks,” Carver said about the response to the call for help.

One of the officers got the brunt of the assault Carver said, and received cuts and bruises.

Police arrested two people in connection to the assault but are still investigating others.
