SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were found dead inside a home in Herriman Friday evening in what police called a “suicide/homicide.”
Herriman City Police Department said officers conducted a welfare check at approximately 7:15 p.m., after family told police they could not get ahold of their 42-year-old family member.
During the welfare check, police said they found two deceased adults. One was the 42-year-old woman police were checking on and the other was a 55-year-old man.
Police said the man was the ex-husband to the woman and did not live with her.
According to police, the woman had injuries consistent with blunt force trauma and the man was determined to have died due to self-inflicted injuries.
“There is no history of reported domestic violence incidents between the victim and suspect in Herriman City,” HCPD said. “The Herriman City Police Department encourages anyone experiencing domestic violence to contact their local police department or the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition at 1-800-897-LINK (5465).”
Police said the investigation was ongoing.
