Two Utah campgrounds featured on ‘Favorite Places to Camp in America’ list

SALT LAKE CITY – Two Utah campgrounds were featured on Hipcamp’s list of ’50 Favorite Places to Camp in America Right Now.’

Hipcamp, a website known for its campsite knowledge and recommendations, has listed two campsites near Zion National Park on a list featuring its 50 favorite camping spots in the U.S. this summer.

Authors of the list said they analyzed over 500,000 campsites in every state, looking at reviews, regional trends, and even “editorial debate” to create a culmination of America’s “hidden gems.”

Utah campsites

Both of the Utah campsites listed were found near southern Utah’s Zion National Park, famous for its red rocks, slot canyons and the infamous Angel’s Landing trail.

Hipcamp listed Jelly Stone Park in Hurricane as one of America’s “favorites,” noting the family-friendly nature of the campsite.

“It’s packed with things to do, from splash pads and pools to mini golf, playgrounds, and planned activities with Yogi Bear,” the website said.

The website also noted the campground is approximately 45 minutes away from Zion National Park.

Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp was also featured on the list, located in Virgin.

“Set on 1,200 acres of wide-open, family-owned land, it offers dispersed campsites, all with stellar views of Zion National Park’s red cliffs,” the website said.

At this campsite, ranch owner and “fifth-generation cowboy” Bill Wright offers horseback rides for campers.
