UTA worker let go after reportedly calling women “porn stars”

SALT LAKE CITY – UTA (Utah Transit Authority) announced today the employee who reportedly used derogatory terms to describe women using the train’s bathroom together is no longer working with the department.
The women were on their way to a concert in Ogden when the former employee confronted them. The exchange was caught on a smart phone which has since gone viral.
The confrontation happened Tuesday night and UTA put the former employee on administrative leave.
“UTA responded swiftly after receiving the video Wednesday morning and began a full investigation per the agency’s standard procedures regarding personnel matters,” the department said in its statement.
The group of women say the agent confronted them while two of them were using the restroom as he yelled and pounded on the door. After that they say he made crude remarks and called them “porn stars.”
UTA Spokesman Carl Arky says it is policy on the Frontrunner to only have one person in the restroom, but employees should use discretion enforcing it.
The agency says it will not release the name of its former employee.
