Utah gas prices increased by two cents amid tariff concerns

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah gas prices have ticked up from last week due to the threat of tariffs, according to the Energy Information Administration.
In a press release from the EIA, the gasoline demand increased from 8.30 million barrels per day last week to 8.32.
Domestic gasoline supply rose from 248.9 million barrels to 251.1, while gasoline production decreased to an average of 9.2 million barrels per day, according to the data collected by the EIA.
A look at Utah gas prices
The data showed that Utah drivers would notice a $.02 increase in gas prices, with the average gas prices varying around the state:
- Ogden: $3.05
- Provo-Orem: $3.04
- Salt Lake City: $3.07
- St. George: $3.18
The West Texas Intermediate dropped $1.67 to settle at $71.03 a barrel at the end of Wednesday’s formal trading session, according to the data.
The data also showed that the inventories for crude oil increased by 8.7 million barrels from the previous week, about 5% below the five-year average for this time of year.
EIA also found that the national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station has remained the same at $.34.
