Vehicle crash takes power out for portions of South Weber

SALT LAKE CITY – A vehicle crashed into power equipment on South Weber Drive Friday afternoon, knocking power out for a portion of South Weber.
Crews were dispatched to an accident near Highmark Charter school, where a single vehicle “struck a series of Rocky Mountain Power equipment,” the South Weber Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
The crash caused power to go out for “a large portion of the east end of South Weber,” the fire department said. “Impacting Maverick, Highmark Charter School, Burly Burger, traffic lights, residential customers etc. in the area.”
Rocky Mountain Power is reportedly working to restore power equipment and get power back to affected areas. The fire department said some impacts may last up to 24 hours.
The single occupant of the vehicle was reportedly taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
