Washington County school bus driver accused of downloading child sex abuse material

SALT LAKE CITY — A school bus driver in the Washington County School District is accused of downloading child sex abuse material, the St. George Police Department announced Wednesday.
The department said members of its investigation division’s Internet Crimes Against Children team served a search warrant at the home of Daniel Workman at approximately 10:20 a.m. Wednesday morning.
“The ICAC Team had previously received a cyber tip from the Utah Attorney General’s Office of a person downloading Child Sex Abuse Materials, St. George PD said. “Further investigation tied Daniel Workman to these images.”
The department said the school district had been informed of Workman’s arrest and said that he’s charged with 20 counts of exploitation of a minor.
According to the school district, Workman passed a background check and was employed for less than a year. There have been no complaints about him in the past.
The school district confirmed that Workman was terminated on Wednesday, and the district is working to replace him.
