SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were rescued on Saturday from Yankee Doodle Canyon in Washington County.
Sgt. Lucas Alfred with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said a group of people were hiking near Danish Ranch Road when they heard the two people shouting for help at the bottom of the canyon.
Alfred said the group called 911 to report the incident around 4:11 p.m.
“They heard shouting and that people were stuck, cold and not doing well,” Alfred said. “Deputies, search and rescue and STAR 7 with UDPS responded to assist.”
The two people were hoisted out of the canyon via helicopter, according to Alfred.
