According to Chief Jake Sube, police received a call from an apartment complex near 2300 Madison Ave in Ogden. Multiple officers responded to the call after the caller said a man was stabbing another man at the complex.
Sube said the police were allowed into the apartment and found an active situation, with one man in his 60s appearing to be stabbing another man.
Sube said one officer fired his gun and shot the suspect, who died at the scene. The stabbing victim was transported to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
According to police, the man who was killed was a parole fugitive who had an active warrant for his arrest. The officer that shot the suspect has been placed on administrative leave.
