TOOELE, Utah — A man driving southbound on Droubay Road died after he crashed into the back of a parked semi-truck.
Tooele City Police Sgt. Rob Benson told KSL the accident happened around 11 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Sgt. Benson said a driver in a 2001 Toyota Yaris was traveling southbound on Droubay Road when, for an unknown reason near Arrow Street, he swerved and hit the back of a parked semi-truck.
A passing motorist tried to help the driver who was unresponsive after the crash. Tooele City police and fire, a UHP Trooper, and Mountainwest Paramedics soon arrived, but despite an hour’s long rescue attempt using CPR, the driver was declared dead on the scene.
The accident did not affect traffic according to Benson. The name of the man who died has not yet been released.
