LOGAN, Utah — An employee at a charter school in Logan has been arrested on child pornography charges, after a tip from Snapchat.
Court documents say Logan Police got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children back in April, that Snapchat found a user was sending child pornography images to others. After months of investigation, Logan Police served a search warrant on July 14 at Ivan Cardona-Davila’s address.
The documents say investigators found more than 16,000 pornographic images, and most of them were children. They also seized drugs and firearms from the home.
The officer wrote that as he was transporting Dardona to jail, he told them he had a problem with child pornography but could not stop, the documents say he is a special ed teacher at a local Logan charter high school.
The Cache Valley Daily reported that Cardona was a school counselor at Fast Forward Charter High. But they say he is no longer listed on the staff. The paper also reports he was booked into the Cache County Jail and was being held without bail.
