(MILLARD CO, UT)  —  A shelter-in-place has been lifted in Scipio after Millard County Sheriff’s deputies took two people into custody Wednesday night.  According to a press release, deputies responded to a residence in the Scipio area on a report of an individual threatening self harm.

“At some point during the incident, the individual became agitated and discharged a handgun in the air,  and returned inside the residence.  Due to the circumstances, a shelter-in-place alert was put out to the residents of Scipio.  The situation was resolved and two individuals were
taken into custody.  No risk remains to the public and the shelter-in-place has been lifted,” concluded the release sent by Captain Patrick Bennett, Millard County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Scipio Mayor Tom Memmot, he was told by the sheriff’s office of a shelter-in-place in Scipio, and that parents were picking up students from Millard High School in Fillmore.
