TOOELE, Utah — Authorities in Tooele County announced Friday that Divina Martinez has been located safe in California.
The 12-year-old girl was reported missing Thursday afternoon. She had last been at her residence in Stansbury Park near Old Mill Elementary.
Authorities say that 43-year-old Pauline Emana and her 15-year-old son drove from Ceres, California to Tooele County to pick up Martinez.
A police press release says the two teenagers had met online. However, why Emana and her son drove to Utah to pick up Martinez is not clear, police say. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
