Missing Taylorsville teen last seen July 4, public assistance requested

Update July 19, 12:45 p.m. — The Taylorsville Police Department confirmed that Taneil is missing, but said she is listed as a runaway. The TVPD said there is no information at this time to indicate she is in danger.

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah  — A national organization that assists in finding missing people says that a teen girl is missing from her Taylorsville home.

The missing teen, Taneil Shields was last seen around noon on July 4, 2022  at her residence in Taylorsville according to The AWARE Foundation

Shields reportedly left her home while her mom was taking a nap. She has not been heard from since. Shields was wearing a pair of blue jeans with holes, a black and white button-up jersey, and black and white high-top Vans when she went missing. 

The teen reportedly left all of her belongings including her cell phone behind.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Taneil Shields is asked to contact Det. Dean with the Taylorsville Police Department at 801-840-4000 (CASE #TY-22-21608.)
