In for a scare? Here are some scary movies filmed in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Looking for something to watch tonight? It turns out Utah has hosted a lot of scary movie productions through the decades.
You can take a trip down spooky alley and memory lane without leaving the state.
One of the first horror movies filmed here was in 1962 with “Carnival of Souls,” filmed at the Saltair.
Or you might try “Silent Night, Deadly Night.”
Lines of people picketed theaters when this movie first came out in 1984 because they thought the ads were too scary for kids.
And if that gets you in the mood for winter, “Frozen” offers a chilly tale. No, not that Frozen.
This far less family-friendly was filmed in Ogden in 2010 and told the story of three people who get trapped on a ski lift.
But if modern scary movies are more to your taste, 2018’s “Hereditary” was filmed in locations across the state.
If scary movies aren’t to your taste at all and you prefer to laugh, the 1990 movie “Troll 2″ was filmed in Heber and has a 5% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. A quick Google search yields multiple results calling it “the best worst movie.”
