Avalanche watch: considerable danger along the Wasatch Front

SALT LAKE CITY — Considerable avalanche danger is present on the Wasatch Front as more snow enters the mountains. 

Although few ski resorts have opened for the winter, some are already closing their uphill travel. 

The Utah Avalanche Center said human triggered avalanches are likely to occur and natural ones are also possible. 

Utah’s expecting plenty of winter storms for and a storm advisory  in in effect tonight through Thursday morning.

The western, northern and eastern-most facing parts of the Wasatch Front carry the highest risk.  While the southern most areas are only experiencing moderate danger. 

With changes occurring in weather patterns early this winter season, avalanche risk information can be found on the Utah Avalanche Center forecast.
