OGDEN, Utah — After Google Maps mistakenly sent voters in Weber County to the wrong location, the county will open a new voting location to curb confusion.
Some voters in Weber County were trying to cast their votes in person Tuesday afternoon when they say Google sent them to the wrong location by mistake.
Weber County Clerk and Auditor, Ricky Hatch told KSL NewsRadio that people using Google and Google Maps were being directed to the Weber County Center, which is the early voting location.
But to make up for the mistake, Hatch confirmed the county would just open a voting location at the Weber County Center Tuesday afternoon.
The other in-person voting site is at the Exhibit Hall at the Weber County Fairgrounds. Hatch said they have updated what they can to make sure the information is as accurate as possible.
Polls close Tuesday at 8 p.m. Pre-filled ballots must be dropped off in a drop box by the same deadline.
“Come in early … we want (people) to be safe … stay warm and come cast a ballot,” Hatch said.
