WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A basement fire inside a West Valley City home Friday was contained to one room, according to West Valley City fire officials.
Fire crews from Unified Fire and West Valley City responded to the incident at 3075 Putnam Court.
According to West Valley City Fire, crews went inside and put forth an aggressive attack on the fire. However, cold temperatures along with snow and ice on the ground made battling the fire more difficult.
There were no injuries reported from the incident. Additionally, the family is staying with neighbors.
Fire officials say smoke was ventilated out of the home.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
