U.S. National Park Service announce free entrance days for participating parks

SALT LAKE CITY — National parks across the county are waiving entrance fees on five significant days during the new year. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in Arizona and Utah will join.
The five days are:
- Monday, January 16: Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
- Saturday, April 22: First day of National Park Week
- Friday, August 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
- Saturday, September 23: National Public Lands Day
- Saturday, November 11: Veterans Day
The fee waiver includes entrance fees only. Other fees such as camping, tours and more are not covered.
A release from the National Park Service said entrance fees at Glen Canyon are normally thirty dollars for a private, non-commercial vehicle and all passengers, for one to seven days.
Furthermore, National Park Service urges visitors to be aware of current park alerts and conditions.
