One dead after officer-involved incident

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department said the suspect in the January 13, 2023, officer-involved-incident died.
The incident occurred near 1300 W Arapahoe Ave when officers attempted to contact two suspects with felony warrants in a vehicle.
The suspects took off leading to a pursuit. Then, the suspect driving the vehicle crashed into another car near 500 N Star Crest Drive.
Upon crashing, the driver then exited the car and ran in the direction of a home. Three officers fired their weapons
The Utah Office of the Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
Furthermore, the name and age of the suspect are not being released at this time.
Four officers remain on paid leave as the investigation continues.
