SALT LAKE CITY — It’s National Park Week, prepare for some long lines this weekend at Utah’s five national parks as Saturday admission is free to all attendees.
Normally the cost to drive a single vehicle into one of the parks ranges from $20 to $35 depending on the park.
But entry is free on Saturday, April 22.
However, all the other park policies remain in place. Meaning, if you want to hike Angel’s Landing at Zion National Park, you still need a hiking permit.
It pays to get there early as the visitor center parking lot typically fills up very early in the day.
Arches National Park still requires visitors to reserve a timed entry ticket to manage traffic and prevent overcrowding.
National Park Week will be the second of five days this year where park entry is $0.
The rest of the free admission days are:
- Friday, August 4, 2023: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
- Saturday, September 23, 2022: National Public Lands Day
- Saturday, November 11, 2023: Veterans Day
