SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Transit Authority is celebrating this month with a pride-wrapped bus that was going to make an appearance at the Pride Parade in downtown SLC.
However, after UTA received complaints, the bus won’t be in the parade.
KSL NewsRadio’s Lindsay Aerts said Utah Rep. Trevor Lee (R-Layton) confirmed he was among those who complained about the bus to UTA.
“Glad it was pulled and there will be changes in the future so taxpayer dollars are not used for political purposes,” said Lee.

According to Carl Arky, spokesperson for UTA, instead of showcasing the pride-wrapped bus an electric bus will take its place.
Arky said one of the twenty new Gillig electric buses will be introduced at the parade.
