MORGAN, Utah — Two kayakers found a body in the Weber River on Thursday evening. The adult female was found floating face down near the train bridge in the Taggart area, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.
Sgt. Jeremy Jaques said the call came in around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, and it stated that the kayakers had found a body floating in the Weber River.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol and Morgan County Swift Water Rescue all assisted in recovering the body.
“She was transported to shore and (it was) determined by medical staff that she was deceased,” said Jaques, who noted that the body is unidentified at this time.
“Now, it’ll be investigated by the medical examiner’s office,” he added. Law enforcement will also investigate how the woman’s body may have ended up floating in the river.
