Former President Trump visited the state in 2017 and Former President Obama did the same in 2015.
The details are still few and far between and the dates of his Utah visit still haven’t been released.
The entirety of Biden’s southwest tour is scheduled for Monday through Thursday next week.
Chair of the Democratic Party in Utah Diane Lewis said she’s not surprised that Biden will make a stop in Utah.
“He is very very attuned to what is going on in the West. Not only the climate but the things that are happening out in Utah.”
Lewis said Biden is expected to talk about the Inflation Reduction Act
Lewis also said she expects he’ll also want to talk about other Utah issues that he’s passionate about.
“I was able to personally meet President Biden at an event that I was at in Maryland. And he says ‘Oh Diane, I’m really worried about Utah and the Great Salt Lake. We need to talk.”
This is a first for President Biden, but not for a member of his staff. First Lady Jill Biden visited Utah in 2021.
