Open house dates announced for temples in Brazil and Washington

SALT LAKE CITY — The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Tuesday the open house dates for the Brasìla Brazil Temple.
In a news release, the church announced the temple open house will be from Saturday, Aug. 12 through Saturday, Sept. 2, with the exception of Sundays. An open house for media and invited guests began Tuesday and it will run through Friday, Aug. 11, with the exception of Sunday, Aug. 7.
Elder Ulisses Soares, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will host the guests as they tour the temple.
The temple will then be dedicated on Sunday, Sept. 17 by Elder Neil L. Andersen, of the Quorm of the Twelve Apostles. Elder Andersen presided over the Brazil South Area in the early 2000s.
According to the release, 1.5 million members of the church live in Brazil.
Open house dates for Moses Lake Washington Temple
On Monday, church leaders also announced the Moses Lake Washington Temple will be open for public tour from Friday, Aug. 4 to Saturday, Aug. 19, with the exceptions of Sundays.
Invited guests began touring the temple on Tuesday. Tours for invited guests will continue through Thursday, Aug. 3.
The temple was first announced by President Russell M. Nelson in April 2019.
