OGDEN, UT — Heading from Salt Lake to Ogden on Frontrunner just got a little more fun, especially if you enjoy karaoke.
UTA hosted a “karaoke car,” and it’s as fun as it sounds. Live singers join riders for a sing-a-long for the nearly hour-long ride.
Our first party train was a success! We loved rocking with passengers headed up to last night’s @boniver concert.
Join us Monday, August 14, on the northbound FrontRunner from Salt Lake Central at 4:25 p.m. headed to Ogden for our next party train. See you there! #funintransit pic.twitter.com/qLbyzrMLPb

UTA said the car is typically the first or second car of Frontrunner. The next “party train” is leaving Monday from Salt Lake’s Central Station at 4:25 p.m. You’ll find the party car on the northbound train.
One of UTA’s bus drivers, Josh Mamae, who is known as “Uncle Maui” on social media joined a party train recently.
“A lot of people, whenever they ride in transit, they have headphones in as they travel,” he said.
“I think this is a great opportunity to show you can have fun on our trains and in our system.”
Passengers not going to the Ogden Twilight Series concert are invited to ride the karaoke car for fun and get off at any stop along the way, or ride Frontrunner to Ogden and back.
UTA said passengers already on the train, or getting on who want a quieter experience, will still have plenty of options in other cars.
