SOUTH JORDAN, Utah — The City of South Jordan has closed the roads that lead into Barbie Land, a Halloween exhibit consisting of 18 homes decorated with a Barbie theme.
Most of us know by now that a trip to Barbie Land requires travel by car, boat, spaceship, snowmobile, bicycle, camper van, and then neon rollerblades. But to the Barbie Land in South Jordan, it’ll have to start without a car.
In a Facebook post, the city said the exhibit’s decorations, and the associated traffic, are creating a public safety issue.
All the cars headed out to see the decorations are reportedly preventing emergency services and such from reaching the people who live there in a timely manner.
Beginning Friday afternoon, the only traffic allowed out to the Island of Daybreak is for the residents that live there.
The city warns that police and city parking enforcement will ticket and tow as necessary.
