MILLCREEK, Utah — Police say a man was shot following some kind of dispute at the Artesian Springs Apartments in Millcreek some time between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Unified Police Sgt. Melody Cutler told KSL that initial callers reported someone was asking people for help changing a tire. They also got reports of a possible active shooter, which were later debunked.
However, after arriving on scene, Cutler said one of them did fire a gun and that it was a targeted event.
“There were at least four males involved in some kind of property dispute…and that’s when shots were fired,” Cutler said.
According to Cutler, the shooting injured three men. One was grazed in the arm by a bullet, another hit with the pistol itself. A third man suffered an unspecified injury.
The shooter slipped away before police arrived. As of early Wednesday morning, Unified Police officers were still at the complex trying to locate the gunman. SWAT began the initial search overnight.
This is a developing story and will be updated when more information is available.
