SALT LAKE CITY — Gov. Spencer Cox will join 15 other Republican governors gathering at the southern border this weekend.
Cox, a known critic of President Biden’s border policies, will join Texas Governor Greg Abbott and others in Eagle Pass, Texas on Sunday.
He and the other GOP governors will tour a portion of the border, and then meet with Texas state officials who will brief the governors on Operation Lone Star, the state’s multi-pronged efforts to secure the border.
Cox has previously said this is an issue of national security and that federal immigration laws are not being enforced.
The border is a disaster that continues to spiral out of control, both in terms of people and deadly fentanyl traffic. This is not a partisan issue. This is a national security issue. This is a common sense issue. This is an American issue.
