SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Fire Department responded to what reports initially called an apartment explosion at 718 East 700 South. The call came in just after 4:00 A.M. Saturday morning.
“This initially came in as an explosion reported by somebody in the area,” said Captain Jepperson with Salt Lake City Fire.
“At this point,” he continued, “It is under investigation, but it’s possible that it may not have been [an apartment explosion]”
Jepperson said that crews found a small fire that was quickly extinguished.
An adult male was transported in serious condition, suffering from smoke inhalation and burn injuries.
Authorities say there was no structural damage to the property and only minor smoke damage.
