SALT LAKE CITY — At 12:30 a.m. early Saturday morning, the Salt Lake City Police Department responded to 911 reports of a injured person at a home near 1050 West 300 South. The Salt Lake City shooting injured two individuals.

While paramedics took the injured individual to the hospital, investigators learned of another injured person at a local hospital. Both victims are expected to recover from injuries. Each of them, both in their twenties, are currently under investigation, with detectives working to establish their roles in the incident. Police say that they can’t release any additional information about the victims.

Detectives quickly filed for, and received, a search warrant. They then entered the house with the help of the Salt Lake City Police Department’s SWAT Team. In the house the detectives discovered and seized multiple firearms.

Currently, no arrests have been made, as the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.

“[The commitment of the officers and detectives working the case] to our community, no matter the time, is a core value of ours, and I appreciate their efforts and dedication,” said Chief Mike Brown with SLCPD who expressed his gratitude towards those involved in the investigation. “Many of them stayed well past the end of their already busy shifts to secure the scene, track down witnesses, and to further this investigation.”

The SLCPD asks anyone with any information about this shooting in Salt Lake City to contact the police department at 801-799-3000 and reference case number 24-74034.
