RICHFIELD, Utah — The Utah Department of Public Safety identified a utility task vehicle driver who died after a car crash on April 22.

According to a press release from the DPS, the crash happened around 4 p.m. at an intersection at 1100 South Main Street.

The department said the driver, 54-year-old Jack Becker, was headed north on Richfield Main Street on a UTV when he turned left in front of a car at an intersection.

A UTV is an off-road vehicle, typically described as a larger version of an all-terrain vehicle or ATV.

As Becker went north, the DPS said a 2013 Hyundai Elantra driving southbound through the intersection struck his UTV.

The DPS said the crash caused the UTV to roll and ejected Becker from the vehicle. Emergency responders took Becker to the hospital but he later died from his injuries.

According to the press release, Becker was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The department said the crash also involved a pregnant woman. The woman was a passenger in the 2013 Hyundai Elantra and was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The DPS gave no other information on her condition.
