Santaquin officer killed in crash; suspect in custody

SANTAQUIN, Utah — The man suspected in the semi-truck crash that killed a Santaquin officer on Sunday morning is now in custody.
According to reports, the man hit the officer intentionally.
The suspect, Mike Jayne, was possibly armed with a stolen firearm and allegedly stole a white F-150 pickup to flee from police.
Gov. Spencer Cox posted on X that the suspect had been captured.

Northbound lanes on Interstate 15 were temporarily closed in Santaquin, according to UHP.
The officer’s name has yet to be released.
