SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two men killed in an avalanche in Lone Peak Canyon on Thursday.

They’ve been identified as Utah resident Andrew Cameron, age 23. The other man was Montana resident Austin Mallet, age 32.

They were killed in a slide in Lone Peak Canyon Thursday that also swept up a third person. That person survived and has already been released from the hospital.

The Unified Police Department previously said it would not identify the surviving skier.
