Teenage girls in critical condition after being hit by SUV in Spanish Fork

SPANISH FORK, Utah — Two teenage girls were hit by an SUV in Spanish Fork Saturday afternoon.
According to the Spanish Fork Police Department, the two girls were attempting to cross near 2300 E. Canyon Road when a Kia Soul SUV hit them.
Following the incident both girls were taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital. Police say the girls are in critical condition.
According to a press release, witnesses report the girls had “darted” out in front of the SUV as it was traveling eastbound on Canyon Road.
The investigation is ongoing. 2300 E. Canyon Road will be closed for eastbound and westbound travel for the “next couple of hours,” according to police.
