West Valley crash on I-215 leaves 48-year-old dead

WEST VALLEY, Utah — A 48-year-old man died on Friday in what state troopers call a “serious crash.”
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, the crash happened in West Valley on I-215 W Southbound at 1300 South around 4:20 p.m.
State troopers said Leonardo Abraham Angel Mejia parked a Chevy Tahoe on the left shoulder of the road. Angel Mejia got out of the outside of the car, and while between it and the barrier, DPS reports a Nissan NV200 van left its lane and hit Angel Mejia’s car.
State troopers said he died at the scene of the crash. It is unknown at this time why the car left its lane.
