Keeping hydrated in excessive heat is important said SLC Emergency Management in a press release. If you have to be outdoors, wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing. Additionally, take frequent breaks from activities and seek shade as much as possible.
Using and reapplying sunscreen will help prevent sunburns.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, high temperatures can lead to heat-related illnesses including, heat stroke, heat exhaustion and heat cramps.
Additionally, the Salt Lake County Health Department used social media to inform residents about heat stroke and exhaustion symptoms.
