Snowbasin Resort selected to host alpine skiing for 2034 Olympics

WEBER COUNTY, Utah — Snowbasin Resort has been selected as the host for alpine skiing for the 2034 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Snowbasin is honored to be chosen once again as a venue for the 2034 Winter Olympic Games,” said Davy Ratchford, General Manager of Snowbasin Resort in a press release. “Over the last four years, we’ve been working with the Organizing Committee to provide our world-renowned terrain to the best Alpine athletes from around the globe.”
Ratchford said Snowbasin will “showcase” what makes the mountain special.
“Guests to Snowbasin have been skiing our famous downhill runs since the first games in 2002, and we are thrilled to host the world again in 2034,” he said.
Since the 2002 games, according to the press release, Snowbasin Resort has upgraded five chair lifts, built multiple restaurants and improved its infrastructure.
According to the press release, Snowbasin Resort is one of three resorts in North America that offers “start-to-finish skiing on a downhill Olympic trail.”
