SALT LAKE CITY — Utah state Reps. Phil Lyman, R-Blanding, and Brian King, D-Salt Lake City, joined together in a video posted on X on Thursday. Why? To ask Utahns not to vote for Gov. Spencer Cox as the next governor of Utah.
King, the Democratic candidate for Utah governor, posted the video on Thursday morning.
In the video, King and Lyman explain how they disagree on certain topics, but one thing they agreed on is that Cox shouldn’t be the next Utah governor.

Cox campaign responds to Lyman and King video
Cox’s campaign spokesperson responded to KSL when asked about the video by saying:

Brian King is ranked every year as one of the most liberal members of the Utah Legislature. He has sponsored bills to dramatically increase taxes and limit the Second Amendment rights of Utah citizens. Losing is hard, but encouraging others to elect someone who believes in a Gavin Newsom style of government is the wrong solution for Utah,” Lusty continued.
