PROVO, Utah — A group of “between 11 and 13 people” were rescued by a search and rescue team from Provo River on Saturday, August 17th. According to Police Sergeant Spencer Cannon, the group was stranded “on an island or sandbar in the Provo River just East of Vivian Park.”

Upon arriving at the scene, the rescue team waded through the river to the group. The water came up only to their shins during the endeavor.
