Wasatch Mountain Film Festival to open in Utah next week

SALT LAKE CITY — The Wasatch Mountain Film Festival, a festival featuring outdoor movies and documentaries will take place here in Utah next week.
The Wasatch Mountain Film Festival is celebrating its tenth year. It exclusively shows films that are themed around the outdoors.
“And so we, kind of, sit at that beautiful intersection of outdoor and creative,” festival co-founder Stuart Derman said. “There really wasn’t any specific event that was needing that.”
Along with outdoor films, the festival also focuses on adventure and documentary films. Derman said the festival reviewed and selected 49 films from 28 countries.
“We’ve got films that have been Oscar-shortlisted. Some are going to be world premiers,” he said. “We also have films that have premiered a major festivals like Tribeca and Hot Docs as well.
The festival will show the films on 10 screens at Westminster College from Sept. 19 to 22.
