Lt. Bill Merritt with WVCPD said due to the number of cars in the parking lot and the lack of light, police initially struggled to find the body. Eventually, they were flagged to the southeast corner of the parking lot where they found the deceased man.
At this time, the man’s identity and cause of death are not confirmed. However, police believe it was a targeted act.
They said there is no threat to the public.
Merritt said that during the investigation, many witnesses told police they “heard a commotion.” However, they didn’t see what was going on.
The entrance and exit to the complex are closed to everyone but residents at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
