Evacuations in place for areas surrounding Yellow Lake Fire

HEBER, Utah — Evacuation orders are in place for areas surrounding the Yellow Lake Fire.
The areas being asked to evacuate are:
- Duchesne Ridge
- Mill Hollow
- Wolf Creek Soapstone Pass areas of Wasatch County.
The Sheriff’s Office is in the process of informing individuals within the closure area of the need to evacuate.
Utah Fire Info says the Yellow Lake Fire started on Saturday.
As of 6 p.m. Sunday, the fire has grown to around 1,500 acres.
They said in a Facebook post that the fire is located east and south of Mill Hollow Reservoir.
“[The fire is] burning in timber and standing dead and down timber,” UFI said in its Facebook post. “Smoke is visible from surrounding areas, please do not report.”
Utah Fire Info said up to five engines, two helicopters and two crews are on the scene to extinguish the fire.
Areas closed due to fire
The fire has crossed onto the east side of Highway 35, so Highway 35 is now closed, Utah Fire Info said.
