CLEARFIELD, Utah — Vandals hit a new playground designed by an 11-year-old Clearfield resident according to the Clearfield City Police Department.
The new playground which opened on Sept. 24 is part of Bicentennial Park. Rosili Olson designed the playground with her little sister, age 4, in mind. She wanted a playground accessible to all ages.
The Clearfield City PD took to social media with the news.
“All vandalism is senseless, but this one hits too close to our hearts.”
“Our newest playground at Bicentennial Park, designed by a young Clearfield resident, has been covered with meaningless graffiti. After months of hard work from our parks department and the family involved, we hate to see this happen to such a wonderful addition to the city,” the post continued.

The police included several photos that showed multiple surfaces of the playground sprayed with graffiti.
“Very disappointing that people would disgrace property like that where they damaged it for no apparent reason, and this is where children play,” said Clearfield Police Lt. Scott Manookin.
There is at least $3,000 worth of damage. Spray paint marks the playground, benches, sidewalks, traffic signs and a utility truck.
Police are looking for any tips since there is no surveillance cameras in that area of Bicentennial Park and ask vandalism to be reported to the non-emergency line at 801-525-2800.
