SALT LAKE CITY — Wasatch Front drivers will have to make a few adjustments this weekend for road closures and detours.
Beginning Friday night in Roy, northbound I-15 will be closed at 5600 South. UDOT spokesperson Mitch Shaw said the full closure isn’t typical.
“We always try our best to at least keep one lane open for the traveling public,” Shaw said. “We’re going to be doing some concrete work. There’s no other way to do it; we can’t have people driving on I-15 during this time.”
The weekend I-15 road closure in Roy begins at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11.
“[Drivers] will be getting redirected off of I-15. It shouldn’t cause huge delays at that time, overnight. At 5 a.m. the road will start reopening again,” said Shaw.
Also beginning Friday, as early as 9 p.m., UDOT will close Bangerter Highway at 13400 South in Riverton. Eastbound and westbound lanes of 13400 South at Bangerter Highway will close for work on what UDOT describes as a new freeway-style interchange.
You can expect the road closure beginning this weekend on Bangerter to last for approximately one year.
On Sunday night, Oct. 13, I-215 at 2700 South will close for bridge repairs.
