WINNEMUCCA, Nev. — Nevada police said a Utah man was killed Wednesday after an accident on eastbound I-80 in Pershing County.

Lawerence Neely was reportedly driving a white Toyota Corolla 20 miles west of Winnemucca on Wednesday, Oct. 9, when he hit a commercial tractor-trailer.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was moving slowly, said troopers with the Nevada Highway Patrol, when the 65-year-old man from East Carbon, Utah ran into the back of the truck.

Neely died at the scene of the crash, troopers said. The truck driver was not injured.

Nevada officials said an investigation is ongoing. They ask any witnesses or anybody with information about the crash to contact NHP at 775-753-1111.
