Utah graduation rates had one of the largest jumps in the nation

SALT LAKE CITY– From 2011 to 2022, Utah high school graduation rates had one of the largest jumps in the nation.
According to data from the GRAD Partnership, Utah graduation rates rose 12.2%.
In 2011, the Utah graduation rate was 76%. It rose to 88.2% in 2022.
The increase catapulted Utah from having the 13th lowest graduation rate in the U.S. to being tied for the 13th highest.
The data shows only eight other states saw larger increases in those 11 years. According to the data, only eight other states saw larger increases in the 11 years.
The Utah trend was mirrored across the nation. U.S. graduation rates rose from 79% to 88.6%.
Florida, Georgia, the District of Columbia, and Alabama had the largest increases in graduation rates at well over 16%.
West Virginia had the highest on-time graduation rate across the nation in 2022 at 91.2%, rising from 76.5% in 2011.
