SALT LAKE CITY — Commuters and shoppers saw significant delays on several Frontrunner trains Saturday afternoon.

Utah Transit Authority says three separate packages were found on trains which led to them being quarantined and bus bridges set up to move people around.

All three packages were wrapped in duct tape, and UTA police Lt. Paul Nielson says they were taped in a way which would make people think there were something other than what they really were.

After bomb-sniffing dogs were called in, the packages were moved to the platforms.  X-rays were performed on the packages and robots used to open them.  One package contained a flashlight, another had office paper inside, and the third box was full of legos.

The first package was found by UTA cleaning crews in Provo.  Another package was found on a train leaving Lehi heading to Provo, and the third was discovered at the Farmington station.  Nielsen says UTA has plenty of surveillance cameras and they were able to identify the man who left all three packages within two hours.  Police are questioning him.

Riders experienced upwards of 30-minute delays between 2:45 and 5 pm on Saturday afternoon.
