My husband is a true original when it comes to teaching! His life motto is “You have to be different from the world, in order to make a difference in the world!” Ryan makes a difference is in his classroom. As a 5th grade teacher, he passes on that motto- stretching their minds, abilities, & thoughts, as well as teaching responsibility. At the end of each year he brings home countless Thank you notes from parents and students appreciating him for the difference he has made in their passion for learning and teaching through life lessons and stories.

He volunteers in extra activities for the school, such as leading a team in raising money for the American Heart Association, and teaching new technology in the classroom. Along with raising money to fund equipment for the classroom play of the Christmas Carol going on its 3rd annual production. He is an amazing teacher in the classroom and outside the classroom. Here is an example of just one of the many thank you notes over the years…

“Hey Mr. Ferre,

My name is Autumn. I don’t know if you remember me, but I was one of your students in the fourth grade, 2009-2010 school year. I moved away from Utah a few years ago, but today I was on the school website showing my friend my old school. When we were looking through the pictures I saw you. I just wanted to say that you are by far the best teacher that I have ever had. I enjoyed your class more than any other, and you made it really fun. I still remember when you would tell us stories that you would make up from the top of your head, and everyone thought you were just so cool because of that. I am in the 9th grade now, and I am about to apply for early college to attend during my 10th grade year. I wanted to thank you, because my fourth grade year was the year that I decided that I wanted to make something of myself when I got older. You made me feel smart and work to be the best that I can be and do the best that I can. Without that, I think it would have taken me longer to figure that out, and while I know I learned that early, I think it was good because the sooner you have the picture of what you want the better. I think that it is really cool that you are still working at the school that I have so many great memories from. I am glad that you were my teacher because you made school a place that I was able to have fun. I hope that you are having a wonderful time teaching and that your students are well too. In all, I just wanted to e-mail you to let you know that you are an amazing teacher, and you are by far the best and most favorite teacher that I have ever had. -Autumn B.”
